Montecatini Terme Cycle Tour & Visit to Wine Estate

One day bike and wine tour special with optional lunch at one of two wine estates.

Our Montecatini Terme Cycle Tour takes in the marshland area south of Montecatini Terme, a visit to the medieval hilltop village of Montecarlo and enjoy a well-earned stop for lunch at one of the area’s finest wine estates. Lunch is optional.

The Montecatini Terme Cycle Tour is the perfect blend of cycling, culture, and cuisine! The territory is mostly flat or low lying with a maximum 250m climb to the historical village of Montecarlo.

One of the wine estate , does not offer a wine tasting experience but offers a typical Tuscan light lunch of antipasto choices , pasta choices and meat dishes with their wine selection .

This lunch is usually taken outside al fresco (see photos) if the weather permits or inside the cantina if its not warm enough. Cost here varies depending on choice of menu usually from 20-40 euros.

You can have a light lunch of cheese and cured hams to pasta and more. You would arrive at lunch time for this experiece around 12- 2pm and have a 1 hour lunch stop here.

The other wine estate choice is a real wine tasting experience where you will be walked around the wine estate and given a detailed description of the grapes you will see and the fermentation process. After the walking tour you will be taken to the cantina for a sit down tasting of 3 red and 3 white wines all different will be presented with a plate of cheese and cured ham with each piece is matched to the wine experience . The visiting times for this experience are 11am,  2pm or 5pm the cost is 35-40 euros per person payable locally and is a 90 minute experience.

The Montecatini Terme Cycle Tour is around 5 hours, with the help of Massimo Chirli a local experienced Cycle Guide. He will show you around the area and provide valuable insight into places of interest, places to eat and drink during your stay.

As with all our bike tours you’ll need to wear appropriate sports clothing and have a reasonable level of cycling skill and fitness.

• Meeting point will be a large free car park in Montecatini Terme which you can easily walk to meet the guide and the bikes.
