Giro d’Italia 2013 Travel Packages

The 96th Giro d’Italia in May 2013 will be a fantastic spectacle below are details of our cycling travel package to watch the final weekend of the Giro d’Italia 2013

Thursday 23rd May:
Arrive before 15h00 at Bergamo Orio Al Serio airport, you will meet a representative in the arrivals terminal. The transfer to the 4 star Hotel in Bolzano will take about 2.15 hours.
Welcome dinner In the evening to allow you and your fellow travelling companions to get to know each other. There will be a briefing in the evening to outline the events of the long weekend.

Friday 24th May:
There are two classic climbs of today’s short stage of 138km, they are Passo Gavia (2,618m) & the historical Passo Stelvio (2,758m). In addition to these two iconic climbs the stage will also climb the 2,051m mountain to the stage finish in Val Martello.

These 3 very tough climbs all within a compact 138km stage, will make for an exciting and explosive stage.

After breakfast we travel to the stage. Riders will be able to ride the 77km from the hotel in Bolzano to the stage finish in Val Martello, whilst those without bikes will be taken there by minibus. For details of this ride click here.

Or you can travel to the base of the climb to Val Martello and ride the iconic Passo Stelvio to see the stage. After seeing the stage on the Stelvio return to the minibus. This ride totals approx 80km and includes the 20km climb of the Passo Stelvio Details here.

After seeing the stage we return to our hotel in Bolzano.

Saturday 25th May:
The Giro d’Italia final mountain stage is going to be a classic with 5 mountain passes between Silandro and the mountain top finish at Tre Cime Lavaredo is a total of 202km.

The location of our base in Bolzano gives us access the stage, as it passes through Bolzano after 59km and before beginning the first climb of the day.

There a number of options of seeing the stage. You can ride the stage route ahead of the race to either of the first two climbs, Passo Costalunga or Passo San Pellegrino, see the stage and return by bike to the hotel in Bolzano. Or alternatively, travel by minibus to the base of Tre Cime Lavaredo which is the final climb and ride this steep climb in order to see this amazing stage. Click here for details.

Those guests without bikes will be taken by minibus to the base of the final climb of Tre Cime Lavaredo from where they can walk onto the climb to see the stage.

After seeing the stage we return to Bolzano.

Sunday 26th May:
The final stage of the Giro d’Italia will finish in Brescia and not Milan. It’s 199km long flat stage and finishes with 5 circuits in Brescia.
After breakfast we travel to Brescia to see the stage and the finish of the Giro d’Italia.
Those riders can be dropped in the town of Peschiera from where they can cycle alongside Lake Garda and the final 50km of the stage route to Brescia.
After watching the stage we travel near to Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport for the last nights accommodation. The hotel is only 50km from Brescia

Monday 27th May:

After Breakfast we will transport you to Bergamo airport for your flight departure.
